  • Description: Damien Hirst Signed Deadman’s Cove from Where the Land Meets the Sea Series 2023. Edition number 130/346. Laminated giclee print on aluminum composite panel. Catalogue number H13-1. H13-1 is an edition of the original painting CP1. Deadman's Cove which is part of the ’Coast Paintings’ series. Created in 2019, ’Coast Paintings’ are colourful action paintings which convey the energy, excitement and change experienced by the seaside in winter, reflected in the works being named after British coastal locations. The ’Coast Paintings’ began their life as grey canvases which were laid on the floor of Hirst’s studio while he painted his acclaimed Cherry Blossoms series. This edition is part of the 'Where the Land Meets the Sea' series, which also consists of artworks taken from Hirst's latest series ’Sea Paintings’ and ’Seascapes’. Hirst, a leading YBA (Young British Artists) member, is one of the most renowned and successful contemporary artists; perhaps his most famous piece, The Physical Impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living, a preserved 14 foot Tiger Shark, is estimated to have been sold for about $12,000,000 to NY Mets owner Steven Cohen in 2006.
