  • Description: 19c Native American Sioux Indian Umbilical Cord Turtle Fetish Beaded. Trade bead, rawhide and sinew. Turtle form indicating housed a girls umbilical cord. Circa probably 19th century. Probably Plains Sioux or perhaps Cheyenne but we assume Sioux. Probably once fitted with small legs. Interestingly, this was found at the bottom of a dry well in Northwestern Pennsylvania.

  • Condition: Some beads missing, some wear to rawhide
